Debit order date Change

I requested a debit order change which was made and confirmed and yet a debit order still went on at the date I requested to be changed. Problem.is I had no money for that date and had an unsuccessful debit which now affects my credit score. I communicated the change in time and was given sms confirmation of the new debit order date.
