Damaged goods
Two weeks ago I had a problem with my Explorer. It couldn't record at all the message was that the decoder,s hard drive was damaged. I called your offices in Randburg spoke to different people they tried to fix the problem whilst I was with them on the phone but nothing changed. They then advised that I take it to the nearest Multichoice, I went to Maponya mall because I live in Soweto. It was around 1:00 pm. I was chased away told that they are cutting the que for the day. I wrote a complaint vis this platform they called me and apologized and said I should go back. By this time the decoder got worse and I couldn't even watch nor record anything. This past Saturday I took it out and went to Maponya mall again. I was attended to it and confirmed that it was indeed damaged therefore they would do a swap which would cost me R600.00 this swap meant that they will not give me a brand bew decoder. I asked why can't I be given a brand new one they said that would be costly. I asked them what guarantee do I have that this swap would work the reassured me that its almost new therefore it will and also that it is cheaper than getting a new one. At some stage two of them were not in agreement as to which model should they give one was adamant that I get the same model as what I had and the other said they should give me the latest model, ultimately they gave me one which is exactly the same as the one I brought. I wad unhappy and questioned them but they said its better for me to get the same model. I was unhappy but agreed. It took then about 3 hours to work on this replacement to make sure that it does what it is supposed to do in the end they said all is well I can take it and leave. Got home connected it and it worked. Since yesterday I am experiencing the issue again regarding recordings and reminders. I would set up a reminder for a particular program however when that time comes the decoder does not automatically skip to that programme it stays where it is. The 2nd issue is that I will set up a particular program to record however when that time comes it will record but soon after that it stops. I then have to press the record button again it records and may after 5 or 10 minutes it cuts and stop recording. This is happening right now. I am not well doesn't have the energy to go to Maponya mall again. What is going on???? I don't even have the funds to call an installer to come and check. I don't have the funds. I am a pensioner who is relying on the Social grant what am I supposed to do?.I did ask them why they were giving me a 2nd hand and they said swaps are what they do. We buy decoders in order to record and watch later now if it can't do what it is supposed to do why do we need them? Can Multichoice please do what is right for a change? Why do we have to struggle like this? Can someone out there please take over Multichoice and give us the services we deserve. I need help please.
