Credit Listed
i was applying for a credit facility when I was told I was listed with the credit bureau for misconduct. When I phoned TransUnion they say my DSTV account was in arrears of R124.83. This decoder is only activated for a month during December or July holidays depending if I had guests. In order to be activated an upfront payment is required because as DSTV customers we pay upfront. I don't know how I owe R124.84. As the decoder was disconnected end of July 2015. I would not have received messages on the decoder. I never received other means of communication to advise my account is in arrears. I receive monthly/weekly/daily marketing info but no account updates. To list me with the credit burea is a very serious matter. I received no emails, texts, letters or phone calls to advise that I will be listed or final demands. This now effects my credit rating which had always been excellent. As an accountant I need to have an excellent credit history so now this will effect my future job prospects. I also won't be able to apply for credit facilities. I have paid the R124.84 in order to clear the account and get delisted. Disappointed with DSTV
