Costs of DSTV need to compete with Netflix and Showmax

DSTV has now become unnecessary to anyone who does not watch sports yet they refuse to lower their costs and now Netflix and Showmax have taken over. Netflix costing around R172 per month and Showmax around R99 per month. We live in a digital age world and we need digital solutions to the way the world is now. There is almost an app for everything these days and that includes apps for all news channels including SABC, ENCA, BBC, CCN and many more. The world is moving towards a need for more data to view their viewings which they can still get for free considering the free WiFi that most places and work places offer.

I suggest that DSTV catches up on the reality very soon before you continue to loose customers. I used to be a big fan of yours but its not sustainable anymore nor do the costs make sense even if one is on the lower packages like DSTV Compact.

You employ a lot of people and I would hate for you to start retrenching people in South Africa during a time like when the economic situation is getting tougher everyday. Please make a plan soon and lower your costs or you would have lost your loyal customers forever.
