Complaint Regarding Payments made to DStv (MultiChoice) via the MyDSTV App

I am writing to complain about a payment issue involving Multichoice, which I just experienced now, today (22 April 2026). I made two separate payments via the MyDSTV App, which is linked to my DSTV profile. I have used this platform multiple times in the past to pay for my DStv subscription, and have never encountered an issue before. Firstly, I paid R700, followed by a second payment of R193 as I was still seeing a balance, both payments were processed separately through the MyDSTV App. Despite completing these transactions, the payments did not reflect on my DSTV account, and my service remained disconnected. Seeking assistance, I contacted the Multichoice WhatsApp support channel and explained the situation. The support team informed me that no payments are reflecting on their system and requested proof of payment, which I promptly provided. Both proof of payments clearly show that the funds were transferred to an Investec Bank account held by "Moment Payco PTY Ltd." Importantly, I did not manually enter any account details; the payment process was initiated by clicking the "Pay Now" button within the MyDSTV App, as I have done in the past without issues. To my surprise, MultiChoice has since claimed to have no association with Moment Payco PTY Ltd or the Investec account in the proof of payment, and they are refusing to acknowledge my payments. This is unacceptable and deeply concerning, as the account details were prepopulated by the app and not entered by me. I believe I have been misled into paying the wrong account due to the app’s default payment process. Given these circumstances, I am going to formally report both MultiChoice and the company Moment Paycor PTY Ltd to the relevant regulatory authorities. I consider this matter to be *****ulent and a potential ****, and I urge the regulators to investigate the platform and payment mechanism urgently.
