Charging lousy amount wen subscription is cut off

Dstv is useless I have been contacting them for quite a number of time and they promise to come back to me, ever am still waiting with no TV at home. I am subscribed to dstv compact, which cost roughly R500 a month. To my suprise I have been with no TV, for almost 2months now. My subscription were cut off and am being told am owing dstv + 1200. How is that possible when I have no viewing. How did I go to R1200 when my subscription was cut off. Dstv is just a **** when it comes to subscriptions.
