Can't Disconnect
I phoned DSTV to disconnect my service, as I will not be able to afford my package this month. I was told that my package runs from the 7th to the 7th of each month, so they can only disconnect it on the 7th of January 2018. It is now 11 Dec 2017, and I said I would obviously pay for the 4 days pro-rata since the 7th, but their attitude is indifferent. So I am being forced to take a service for the next month that I cannot afford??

Best regards,
Good day Rudi
Thank you for sending us your query.
Please be informed that your DStv service is a month-to-month contract. When you pay your subscription, the contract for that month is therefore fixed on the package active as at the beginning of your billing cycle. For this reason, the service is currently scheduled for disconnection on 07 January 2018.
To fully align with our regulations, downgrades and disconnections can only happen once a month, on the day your next subscription payment is due. This is to ensure that customers adhere to the month to month billing rules.
In the past we allowed downgrades and disconnections as per customer’s request at any time of the month. This was concession on our part as our previous system could facilitate it.
Kind regards
Dinah
