Can't cancel subscription

Why is it so hard to cancel a service with you? My subscription was cancelled last year and I have since sold my explora. What a surprise when the new owner couldn't change ownership because apparently I owe money?I have sent several emails and attempted the chat feature and no one ever gets back to me. This is shocking.
