Browser Streaming Unusable

I thought your Flash streaming was bad, boy was I in for a surprise when you moved to HTML5. The iPad streaming is OK, which immediately tells me my bandwidth is sufficient and the problem is with browser streaming.

It continually freezes and buffers, on multiple computers, using multiple browsers. The cricket at 05:30am streams fine, but don't even try watch a rugby game at 17:00, when more than 10 people are trying to use the same stream.

Your support is the most useless, uninformed, and disenfranchised support team I have had the misfortune of dealing with. Your Twitter accounts just ignore customer complaints, or merely, if we are lucky, give the stock standard "We apologise". This is not good enough.

You advertise streaming as a viable alternative to watch Premium content. I cannot be at a TV, which is why I stream. Your absolute incompetence to keep a simple stream running is frightening. I can watch HD YouTube or Netflix, but heaven forbid I try stream 360p on SuperSport.

I'm not technologically challenged, so please don't insult me by replying with, clear your browser cache, or some other fluff. I've done and tried everything, and it all points to a pathetic, insufficient and poorly architected DSTV/SuperSport streaming service. A quick check on popular forums will enlighten you to the extent of the issues across your customer base. I think you know this, but I don’t feel you care to invest in resolving these issues.

If the streaming gives me one more hassle, then I will cancel my subscription, which I will do gladly, and join the plethora of my colleagues and friends who have already said goodbye to DSTV. I refuse to continue to pay R800+ for this pathetic service and support.

The only valid response to the complaint is, “Dear Sir, we have fully attended to the issues affecting our browser streaming service. We have invested in better scalable and flexible infrastructure, and we ensure you that we have enough bandwidth to handle the demand for match between the All Blacks and a Springbok team who has an 80% win rate.” I, however, think the Boks will get an 80% win rate, before you care enough about your customers to stabilise the untenable streaming service.
