Billing dispute and unauthorised contract amendment

am raising a formal complaint regarding a billing dispute and what appears to be an unauthorized amendment to my contract.

My contract with DStv was supposed to have ended, yet I am now being billed for a period beyond the contract expiry. In addition to this, I have been informed about a debit order that I never authorised. At no stage did I consent to a debit order arrangement, nor was I notified of any changes to the terms of my contract.

It is extremely concerning that a service provider would amend or extend a contract without the customer’s knowledge or permission. As a consumer, I expect transparency and adherence to the terms originally agreed upon.

I have attempted to resolve this matter directly with customer service, however the responses received have not addressed the core issue regarding the alleged debit order and the contract amendment.

In terms of the Consumer Protection Act, suppliers are not permitted to alter contractual terms or impose charges without the consumer’s consent. I therefore dispute these charges and request that my account be corrected immediately.

Should this matter not be resolved urgently, I will escalate the complaint further through the National Consumer Commission and other relevant consumer protection bodies.

I would appreciate a prompt investigation and written resolution from DStv.
