Being charged for nothing
<p>I got an sms today, chasing me to pay my next monhs subscription. The amount was more than the amount of the monthly subscription, so I called them to enquire. The lady I dealt with as very professional on the phone.</p> <p> </p> <p>She proceeded to tell me I had to pay an extra R39.00 (called Payment Reversal) as, according to their systems, I had not paid my monthly subscription in time 10 months ago !</p> <p> </p> <p>As far a I know if I dont not pay in time every month, DSTV will cut me off and then I have to pay a reconnection fee and the next months subscription.</p> <p> </p> <p>It extra charge could have been R1000 ? Who knows ?</p> <p> </p> <p>So why the extra charge ?</p> <p> </p>

We have checked your DStv account and can confirm that you're a DStv Family subscriber. Your payment date is on the 07th of every month and the monthly subscription is R219.00.
If the payment is not reflecting on your payment date which is the 07th, the service will be suspended due to non-payment. For this reason, you will be charged the pro rata balance, this is balance charged before the service is suspended due to non-payment.
Upon the reconnection of service, you will be charged the pro rata amount, reconnect fee and forward billing. The late payment leads to the suspension of service and extra charge in the account.
Your next payment is R219.00 payable by 07 December 2016.
