BAD SERVICE FROM MULTICHOICE!

Hello Peter

BAD SERVICE FROM MULTICHOICE! As an DSTV installer I occasionally get old decoders from customers when I upgrade their decoders. They fill out the transfer form of ownership and give me a copy of their ID Book.

On the 16 June 2018 I went to the Multichoice outlet at Giftacre centre in Lynnwood road. I gave my Forms from both parties to Avinash to transfer a decoder for me to a new customer. He said that he can’t do that because the both parties must sign on one form. I told him that it is difficult to get the two parties together to sign one form and that Multichoice makes it so difficult for customers to transfer decoders and that the customers MUST buy new decoders. I asked him to call the manager and very ****ily he told me that he is the manager and that they don’t transfer decoders for installers! I wasted an hour of my life there. I filled out the form where you can rate their service and put it in a box at the counter. The box is not even locked so they can remove bad results out of the box. It would be good to lock the box and that it must be send to Multichoice to evaluate their quality of service.

I then went to The Multichoice outlet in Centurion. I waste another half an hour of my life and R5 for parking. Not to mention my travel cost and toll road costs! They also refused to help me. What bad service from Multichoice if you have the appropriate documents? Really now Multichoice!!! As the new single decoders you have to buy multiplexers if you want to do extraview. More costs for subscribers. That’s why it is good for me to use the old decoders. I Have one suggestion. Why can Multichoice swap me for the old decoder? Multichoice can give me a new decoder for 2 old decoders. So I can help Multichoice to get old decoders out of their system as that is what Multichoice wants. My PVR 4 tuner is giving me lately lots of problems and I also find the same problems with my customers. I think Multichoice is programming their software so, so that subscribers buy new decoders. Previously I was also offer by Multichoice to swap my decoder for an Explora and then I have to pay in an amount. I told Multichoice that they must not hurt my pocket (money) because they want to get rid of all the old decoder!

I have referred to query to the head of DStv installers for further assistance. Kindly expect feedback directly from them.

Regarding change of ownership, it is important that we adhere to the requirements for this request to be processed.

Please check the terms and conditions regarding change of ownership by visiting our website www.dstv.com. You will understand that MultiChoice does not make it difficult to transfer decoders. This process is put in place to protect both the customer and the organisation.

This is now 2020 and I still have problems from Multichoice with change of ownership of decoders. Yesterday I spend more than 3 hours on the phone with MC to get a decoder transferred from 1 owner to another. WITH NO SUCCESS!!!!! People let me tell you one thing. MC wants US to buy new decoders with limited functions than previous decoders so that you have to pay more for installations! I'm an installer and working with this every day. My PVR 4 tuner was *******ed (I think with MC software so that it is not working anymore!) To back this up, I got the same decoder from a customer working 100%. I upgraded him to an explorer. When I connect his decoder at my place, same error that my decoder gave me. I use to be in IT. MC can just format hdd and reinstall software. EASY!! I wait to hear from them!!!
