Bad customer service
We have a HD Decoder on a family package. When we downgraded we made sure that our PVR functionality is still working. Well it has cost me over R500.00 in airtimime to get the service senter to get my functionality to work. Again this morning I have spend R35.00 on airtime and yet no satisfaction. Then another problem we have is the repeat of programmes, I can understand twice but some instances up to 6 to 7 times. I think DSTV has gone backwards and hopefully they can respond to this and sort out my decoder.

15 Aug 2015, 14:20Hello DAmy,
We have sent the signal to your smartcard so that you can access your PVR functionality. Should the problem persist, please pull out the power cable of the decoder for five seconds and put it back on. Allow the decoder to scan and once done, you should be able to access your PVR functionality.
MultiChoice does not schedule channel programmes but buys ready-made local and international channels. Each channel schedules new and recurring programmes according to a programme or movie's license specification. MultiChoice arranges the channels into DStv packages and broadcasts the channels.
The other main reason programmes are repeated is to give people more chances to watch or record something they might have missed. There are a finite number of new movies and shows being made every year. A single channel, broadcasting 24 hours a day, needs 8 760 hours of content a year. There are only about 600 new movies made every year (which equates to just 1 200 hours of movies).
We understand your concern about repeats.
Thank you for taking your time to contact us. Your support is important to us.
Kind regards
Dinah
