Bad attitude regarding wrong billing
Complaint Regarding DSTV (MultiChoice)
DSTV is receiving payment for services not rendered and refuses to respond to my enquiries.
My subscription was renewed on 1 May 2012, although I had already been a customer since 1 July 2001. As I used to receive my salary on the 25th of each month, I requested that my debit order be processed on the 25th.
Approximately three years ago, I retired and requested that my debit order date be moved from the 25th to the end of each month. Before implementing this change, they debited a pro-rata amount from the 25th to the 31st.
This means I had already paid in advance for 25 days, yet I was charged again for a period I had effectively already covered.
DSTV (MultiChoice) does not respond to enquiries, seemingly because they operate in a monopoly environment. I am still in possession of the original letter confirming the subscription arrangement, dated 30 April 2012 and signed by the Senior Financial Manager, Magda Vermeulen, on behalf of MultiChoice.
Consumers should be cautious when dealing with DSTV (MultiChoice). It appears that they take money that is not rightfully theirs, despite already charging substantial fees for outdated and repetitive content.
