Application declined for Explora Price Lock plan

My wife installed DSTV at our home in 2011 when I was working in the DRC. As I was not in the country at that time to let them do a debit order on my bank account, she made it a cash deal where we have to pay each month for our subscription. So since 2011 we have been paying VERY LOYAL every month. Every year when they had a subscription increase we made the payments.

On 12 January of 2017 we decided to apply for the advertised Pricelock Plan as it is advertised on television. The account still being in my wife's name and me paying it every month they didn't want to do the deal as the bank account holder ( being me) is not the DSTV account holder.

So we decided to change the account to my name to make the application easier. We went to our local Mulitchoice office in Bethlehem and did all the necessary paperwork. We even made a month in advance payment so the account be right and in my name. That same afternoon the call centre called me and we started the process to apply for the Pricelock Plan. After all my details were given they informed me that due to my credit check the application has been denied.

Now my question is to DSTV and this is still the answer that I am waiting to get a reply from them is. If not for once in the last 6 years being a customer and been paying my monthly subscription on time every month, how and why would I not be able to pay a mere R160 a month more than what I am currently paying (monthly subscription now being R760 a month)???????

And if they do it by debit order every month from MY bank account what will be the problem.??

They will receive their R950 a month. And if I myself are so stupid or dumb to withdraw the money before there money go off then the bank will charge me money for a returned debit order.

DSTV really made me start to think that they think that there customers are a bunch of stupid idiots.

And also there advert is misleading the public as they say that with this deal they put the power in your hands BS!!!!

As a customer I now do not have the opportunity to enjoy my DSTV to its fullest. Paying all that money and don't have a PVR or Extraview or Catchup. As I only have a single view decoder.

I hope this get to one of the managers and that they can come back to me and assist me in this whole regard. Being a loyal customer and being mislead and treated like this can make big waves on social media, and trust me hellopeter will only be the beginning.

So DSTV if you don't like to start loosing a lot of customers and to let one customer start to make your name bad out there then come back and let's sort this out.

Hope to hear from you soon
