After investing in a Walka and a Drifta, Multichoice ends Mobile service.

I have been notified by Multichoice that the DSTV Mobile service will be discontinued at the end of Oct, 2018. According to Multichoice, I can use the DSTV Now app instead, but, because I only have a mobile package at R49 per month, I will only be able to view the following channels: TBN, Channel O, People's Weather, Real Time, Supersport Play and Supersport Events. This is besides having to pay for my own data.

I invested in both a Walka and a Drifta. I specifically bought the Walka for my mentally handicapped sister who uses it to watch Kyknet and Rugby. I feel that at R49 p.m., watching these changes on a 4 inch screen is a fair deal.

The DSTV Now option is not a like-for-like replacement as I am losing most of the channels and have to pay for my own data. I feel that a better option would be for Multichoice to make available an app for the (ex) mobile users that cannot go full screen. We will still have to pay for our own data, however, at least half the problem would be solved.

What am I now supposed to tell my mentally handicapped sister who lives for watching her rugby and Kyknet on this 4 inch device!
