Afrikaans Dominates English Medium Channel
By the Head of Publicity's own admission, M-Net Terrestrial has willingly chosen to cater in favour of a small fraction of White subscribers by discriminating against every other race. Even White people (non-Afrikaaners) have complained about the Afrikaans content overriding M-Net content but somehow this channel chooses to ignore these complaints to accommodate its Afrikaans population, which the minority of this broadcaster's M-Net Terrestrial subscriber base. I've sent the Head of Publicity proof in the form of screenshots but she once again cast this issue aside. How can this channel so blatantly discriminate against all its other subscribers to cater to a small minority? <br> <br> M-Net fired Gareth Cliff from Idols for being partial to whites (ie. a ******) because his tweet sided with Penny Sparrow, but this channel is doing the very same thing by choosing to favour its small percentage of Afrikaans-speaking subscribers to the disadvantage of every other subscriber who is not white and not Afrikaans speaking. This broadcaster is applying double-standards and Multichoice forgets this is no longer a 'white' dominated country run by a white government. M-Net is an English channel!

MultiChoice, and its sister company M-Net, strives to cater for the wide range of viewing tastes of all our customers - regardless of age, gender, race or language. On a platform like DStv where there are several M-Net branded and M-Net produced channels, it is possible to create a number of different channels that caters for different audiences.
The M-Net terrestrial offering differs from that - it is a single general entertainment channel that needs to cater for a diverse audience within a single schedule. The current prime-time schedule for M-Net terrestrial offers the best international series, whereas the day-time schedule will contain repeats and shows for the large percentage of Afrikaans viewers.
At the end of the day the focus remains on offering all customers on the M-Net terrestrial service something to watch and enjoy.
