Accounts department useless

I had previous issues with my holiday account with money not being transfered into the holiday account. I was instructed to pay at a DSTV approved institution to avoid a similar incident. In April this year, I paid cash for this holiday account at a supermarket. My decoder was subsequebtly switched on. Now I see that my account has also been debited with the same amount, and I now need to prove that I've paid the money! How can DSTV switch on my account if I haven't paid for the holiday account? It is just too easy for DSTV to debited my account again! What poor service from this company again!!

Elna

When I paid the account and my decoder was switched on, I thought that was proof that I paid my account for the specific period. I would like to know from DSTV who authorised that my decoder be switched on? There must either be a telephonic, mail or website requets from my side to switch this on? Or can DSTV switch on as they please?

Dear Gerhard,

According to our records, you called in on the 17 March 2016 to query the outstanding balance in your holiday account. There was a transfer of R897.60 on the 19 March 2016 to your holiday account which remained with a credit balance.

This credit balance covered your holiday service till the 18th April 2016. The same date the service was suspended leaving your holiday account with an outstanding balance of R332.90. Furthermore, you made our consultant aware that you had paid R400.00 in April for the holiday service, the same payment is not reflecting in our records.

Please send us our proof of payment to *** for further assistance.

Kind regards

Dinah

Elna. This is precisely my point. If I didn't pay the money, why was my decoder switched on?

Elna. I've just spoken to your accounts department again, and I've requested a copy of the telephone conversation I had on approx 17-19 March 2016 with DSTV. I made a payment of R897.60 on 17/3/2016 at a local Spar for the activation of the holiday account for the March school holidays (2 weeks). DSTV then extended this on their own (in my opinion) for another 2 weeks, from 3 - 17 April 2016, for which I am now billed. This is an unfair practice in my view. I will wait until I receive the telephonic copy before I take this matter further, should DSTV be in the wrong. Reference nr ***/I76. Regards Gerhard Botha

Elna. I'm batling to get a copy of the telephone conversation with DSTV. I have called a couple of times now, and nobody comes back to me. What do I need to do to get a copy of the telephonic conversation with DSTV?

I'm sorry to report this, but DSTV has once again disconnected my service, even though I have a debit order. Every single time I connect my holiday account, there is a problem with my primary account. I don't know what to do anymore. Is there anyone at DSTV that can tell me how to handle my account to avoid being disconnected?
