Account issues

I recently activated my Dstv in September. I took the R425 package cause I could not afford the premium. This was during the rugby World cup,and I changed my package after the first month to premium for the month of October so I can watch the World cup,so I thought that I will rather not have dstv for November,so they can suspend my account for the month of November,and I wil re-activate for December holidays. So before the end of November,I recieved a sms stating that if I don't pay by the 29th,my account will be suspended,which I was fine with.So after November I was still activated up to tge 15th of November,and was eventually suspended.So I thought seeing that I have no cable,I will activate the R99 package.So I went to Roytronix in Brackenfell. I was told that to activate the R99 package,I have to pay R398. I understand that it is probably for those days the account was still activate,but why must I pay if it was still active,I was told that my account will be suspended by the 29th of October.This is just a way to suck money from people,it is not fair!!!
