A very frustrated customer

I had such a bad signal from Multichoice.... And even now that I have made countless phone call to their call center as from Friday till Sunday still no signal at all. And the worse of them all. Now when I call their call center it does not go through. And yet paid for the service which I'm not enjoying.... I want my full refund if I don't get any help......

Dear Teboho Ntalime,

The technical problem you are currently experiencing, could be the result of an installation related problem.

Press MENU on the MultiChoice RCU

1. Information Central

Most importantly the Signal Strength must be between 85% to 90%, Signal Quality must be 100%. If strength is low, we suggest that the installer be called.

When the Dish loses position from the satellite the decoder will continuously scan to receive the signal of which some channels will be affected.

You are kindly advised to do a hard reboot on your decoder. Please do the following to hard reboot your decoder:

Switch your decoder off

Pull out smartcard

Un-plug the decoder from the main plug

Wait for about 45 seconds to a minute

Plug the decoder on the main plug

Switch on the decoder

Wait until insert smartcard message reflects on your TV screen

You can also reset your decoder by following bellow steps:

Press Menu button

Then Advanced Options

Then Dish Installation

Pin 9949

Reset All to Factory defaults

We recommend that your installation be checked every few years as weather exposure and other factors can influence the quality of your installation and therefore impact your viewing.

We also recommend that you kindly take your decoder for testing at one of our MultiChoice branch or agency. Testing is free of charge.

Testing will confirm whether decoder or installation is at fault. Should the decoder be fine at an agency or branch they will then recommend that you get your installation fixed.

Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us send an email to *** .

Kind regards

Edward.
