A bizarre and fishy service provider
The most bizarre service provider in South Africa. And even that's putting it lightly. Yesterday I got logged out of all my dstv apps and tried to log in only to be prompted that the account doesn't exist. After several attempts at resetting the password, I finally got it to reset and upon logging on, I was surprised to find that I'm suddenly downgraded to the free package.
Spent the entire day in back and forth emails with support and they asked for my customer number (which I've never received in the first place). Gave them my ID, physical address, phone number and email as asked only to be told they can't find my account.
I then sent them my bank card details and proof of debits to prove that I definitely have an account with them. They asked for this too, mind you. They still couldn't trace a thing.
With each response, I was passed onto a new person and kept getting asked for the same details I've provided several times over by now. Eventually they asked me for the actual bank statements and that's where I drew the line.
They took money, they took all my personal and sensitive details. I kept getting replies from a different support consultant asking the same and claiming the same thing. "We can't locate your account, send bank statements". Why do I have to go to such extent just to prove that I am your customer? How archaic are your systems?
This was an extremely fishy and annoying experience and I will feel much safer without having to deal with such a ***** company.
