6 OUT OF 6 - AT LEAST DStv ARE CONSISTENT

Multichoice Africa / DStv keep deactivating my Holiday Home decoder.

I make sure that my account is in credit, I go to the DStv web site, I activate my holiday home decoder, I get a message confirming that the decoder is activated and the next day, DStv prematurely disconnect my decoder.

This is the 6th consecutive time.

After the last episode, when my decoder was de-activated on 12/07/2021, I received a phone call with the usual apologies (which by now have lost total credibility) as well as an anonymous email from DStv: Hello Peter Team (there is never a name mentioned - probably computer generated), an “enquiry reference number” and it stated: “I have escalated the matter to our Higher Technical department to further investigate the issue. The escalation reference number is #INC-647873. Feedback will be communicated as soon as we receive it.”

“Feedback” was not “communicated”.

On 24 July, I sent the “DStv: Hello Peter team” an email asking whether they had any “feedback” relating to the “escalation reference number” which I had been given two weeks prior. I received the following reply from the computerised [anonymous] “DStv: Hello Peter team”: “Kindly note that the query was escalated further, however, we haven't received any feedback. Please do reconnect the service and confirm if they stay until the last day selected. I will monitor the services from my end and then provide our IT team. Please inform me once you have done the reconnection.”

On 28 July, I went onto DStv’s website, re-connected my holiday home decoder and informed, as requested, the DStv: Hello Peter team via email.

The next morning, DStv had disconnected my decoder.

6 out of 6 - following posts I receive apologies, sometimes a phone call, anonymous emails from DStv: Hello Peter team, “enquiry” and “reference” numbers.

What is the point? My decoder still gets prematurely disconnected!
