DSC ATTORNEYS - 6 YEARS, NO RESULTS!!!!!!

Dear Hello Peter,

My wife Sandra recently settled a claim that she had for a dog bite.

She went to DSC in November 2017 and settled in August this year (six years later), BUT IT WAS NOT DSC who settled the matter, it was a friend of mine who managed to do it in under three months.

We managed to get my wife’s file from DSC.

By listing the dates over the years it was obvious that DSC had left large time gaps in the process and in my opinion mismanaged the whole matter from beginning to end.

I admit that, like most people, neither my wife nor I read through all the documentation that she was asked to sign. When we did, we challenged DSC straight away but as you would expect, we were totally blocked.

Then when settlement had been agreed, my wife was asked to sign a Release Form with a Clause saying that she waived her rights to see a detailed Statement of Account – which had already been requested but with no response.

My wife was told in writing that she had to sign the Release in order to be paid the money due to her. My wife registered her disagreement prior to signing the document and then did so to get her money.

We have asked for some sort of refund because they actually did nothing effective and presented us with a bill for more than R 200 000.00.

Now they won’t even speak to us. ALL THE ABOVE IS DOCUMENTED
