Misleading Advice and Poor Patient Care

I had a very disappointing experience with this practice. Dr Ghirlando prescribed medication and assured me that I would be able to claim it from my medical aid because it was supposedly a more affordable option. I later discovered that not only was the medication more expensive than the alternative, but it is also a herbal product, which means my medical aid does not cover it. When I contacted the practice to discuss the issue, instead of receiving assistance, I was accused of lying and treated with a complete lack of respect. Despite asking to speak directly to the doctor, I was repeatedly told that he was unavailable and never received a call back. To make matters worse, I requested copies of the consultation notes made during my appointment, but the practice refused to provide them. Patients deserve honest information about treatment costs and medical aid coverage, as well as respectful communication when concerns are raised. Unfortunately, my experience was the exact opposite, and I cannot recommend this practice based on the way I was treated.
