****** front desk lady at Drs Strydom & Letitia

It is with utter disappointment that I have to write this review as the doctors at the Drs Arno Strydom & Letita centre are quiet good, but the treatment I received on the 9th June 2021, because of the lady at the front desk- Sonje/ Sandra (I can’t recall the name clearly) was a total display of ****** and ************** and unfortunately my family and friends will never be setting foot at the medical centre again. It is also clear from the google reviews I read, that nothing is being done regarding how the above mentioned lady treats patients.

I called in at about 07:55am, 9 June 2021 to request for an emergency appointment for my son as he was not feeling well at all and I know the centre works on an appointment basis. Sonje/Sandra then says I can definitely come they will assist. I get to the centre no later then 08:20am and immediately report to her to indicate that I am the lady that had called in as an emergency. She takes out my file and assures me to wait, the doctor will attend to me. While waiting I observe that patients keep being called to be attended to by the doctor except for me and other patients of my skin colour- yes, I am african. About over an hour and 30 minutes later an african man stands up to complain to Sonje/Sandra that it seems like people- yes all white, that have also just walked in, that he has been waiting before them are being attended to by the doctor and are being assisted, yet we have been waiting for over an hour and 30 minutes with no assistance. The excuse given is that the files may have been somehow mixed up on the pile and that some of the patients are emergency patients. Very questionable at this moment, because it’s quiet surprising that all the african patients are actually not being attended to even as emergency patients and no apology at all or sign of remorse from Sonje/Sandra. She was very rude at that moment also making facial expressions which the man raising the complaint instructs her to stop looking at him in that rude manner. I then also get up and say I am an emergency patient, but still I haven’t been assisted. She somehow fidgets for my file and says I will also be next and makes a lame excuse. At this point another african couple that was sitting next to us leaves the medical centre- yes they could not tolerate the observable ****** displayed by Sonje/Sandra.

My husband even called after we arrived at home to address the ill treatment my son and I had received at the centre, after I explained to him what had transpired at the centre. Sonje/ Sandra even dimisses him in Afrikaans saying ‘sy sal nie dit hoor nie’ thinking we don’t even understand Afrikaans. The lady is clearly unapologetic and very rude.

This is rather very unprofessional and quiet ridiculous to be dealing with such display of ****** and ************** in 2021 from an entire front desk lady of a company who is meant to welcome patients with dignity and pride without discriminating patients because of colour.
