Dros Eden Meadows, 6 October 2016

We were a party of nine and all ordered the Thursday Dros Calamari Pan special for R34.95. The advert specifies 300g Calamari Pan served with Chips/Rice. Two of the meals were with rice and definitely less calamari than the other seven servings. We spoke to the waitress who called Barbara the manager. Barbara called the kitchen staff to explain... is it not the job of the manager to take charge instead of passing on the blame? Barbara explained argumentatively in a raised voice that all the portions were cooked together and then served separately. She then argued that she had to take all ten meals and re-portion it. Yes we ordered nine meals but they brought ten. The other people in our party had started eating so we could not give her the meals to re-portion...totally unheard of in the hospitality industry!! Barbara was unhelpful and caused quite a scene. We explained that we are regular patrons that eat at least four times in a month at the Dros and we were not looking for a free meal. We just expected the meal as advertised; 300g calamari. Is this too much to ask? Your manager needs training and people s****s. I did write my comments in your book but I have not received any response from the owner of the Dros at Eden Meadows. I would appreciate somebody contacting me. This is a shocking experience! Hospitality is about customer service. How will you treat tourists if treat the locals poorly? Dros, you need to step up your service!!
