Bad communication with online order

What a bad experience. I don't mind delays in orders, and understand that due to covid there can be delays. But no communication and broken promises are just unacceptable. My main reason for cancelling the order and requesting a refund is that I can't imagine going through these people when I need aftersales service like warranty and such. Below is the full timeline.

Me: 25 Aug 2020: placed order online Me: 10 Sep 2020: no communication from Drommedaris since order placed, called to follow up, told the shipment from supplier is delayed and someone will call me the following week. Me: 21 Sep 2020: no communication received, called to follow up, told they are still waiting but will have the details the next day and call me. Me: 22 Sep 2020: send email because no one called me and I want it on record. Drommedaris: 23 Sep 2020: rep**** that they are waiting for supplier to provide ETA. Me: 25 Sep 2020: email to ask for feedback, voice my frustration and that I am considering asking for a refund. Drommedaris: 26 Sep 2020: rep**** that supplier provided preliminary date of 7 Oct 2020. Me: 28 Sep 2020: email to request refund. Me: 30 Sep 2020: no response, request feedback via email. Me: 2 Oct 2020: no response yet, called and were told refund has been submitted to head office, I should receive it today or tomorrow. Me: 6 Oct 2020: refund received.

I guess they can have the 1 star for refunding me, because I would give them 0 stars if I could. I was friendly and patient every time I called, but seriously how can you keep promising to call me and then just ignore me every time? Even on your website you say "...will keep you in the loop should your delivery be delayed for any reason." I had to initiate communication every single time - not once did they call/email me with an update. If I didn't call them I probably would not have heard from them to this day. I don't understand how a company treats customers like this in today's competitive market. If this is how they treat customers during the sales process, can you imagine how their aftersales service is? I'd rather set myself on fire.

I now ordered the same product from another retailer and the product was delivered 2 days later. In this time they called me 3 times. Once to confirm the order, once to arrange delivery, and once to confirm delivery. This it how it should be done.
