False Advertising

I Recently bought a car from Driving Force in Wynberg. I was not able to collect the car so I had someone pick it up for me, after I received the car I noticed that there were several features not included in the car which was posted on the adverti*****t (cruise-control, USB input, auto dim rear-view mirror, rain sensor, auto climate control, etc.), and which played a role in me paying the amount I paid, as all these extra features obviously add to the value of the car.

When I contacted them and said that this is plain out false advertising they responded by saying they did not add those extra's on the adverti*****t, and certain platforms like gumtree use generic templates for dealers, which is a load of **** because gumtree only posts what you type. So this was a copy-paste mistake by the dealer, and he didn't want to own up to his mistake.

He then sent me a screenshot off their system of what the car has in according to their books....which also included features that the car does not have, so digging his hole even deeper. I Told them that they are in direct violation of the Consumer Protection Act, and they should please just either refund me the value of these features that I didn't get (but paid for) or they should have the ones installed where possible.

They just responded by saying I can bring the car back for a refund, but they won't add any extra's or make any compensation payments for their false advertising. They even gave me a deadline, saying that I have to bring it back before a certain date.

Eventually, when I decided to return the car I told them it's my only form of transport so the least they can do is come to fetch it as I also stay quite far from Wynberg. They just stubbornly refused and said I need to bring it in.

I will NEVER support this dealer again, and I advise anyone to stay away, or triple check every single detail on the car before signing. They think they are above the CPA, and could not care less about their customers once they have the money.
