********** Driving School

As one reviewer wrote, "I feel a bit to blame myself because I had read bad reviews on HelloPeter and a review one of the the previous reviews said the positive ones on here are fabricated (including some from actual employees of the company) but gave them the benefit of the doubt..."

I echo all the one-star reviews in all of their complaints. This company is a sham. I am saddened to read all of the people who have lost their time, money, and have suffered no relief even through their lawsuits and formal complaints. I will add my voice to HelloPeter and initiate the formal complaint as well. Hopefully this can serve to deter other consumers from experiencing the same disaster as the rest of us have.

RE Application Assistance Offers: I signed up for the application assistance offered. DO NOT DO THIS. The "assistance" is for them to spend one of your paid instruction hours to do the admin you've paid for them to do separate from the actual driving instruction. The only "assistance" I received was the use of one of these instruction hours to have a blank form and my own documents printed with the suggestion that I take the rest of the instruction hour to fill out the form. Moreover, they requested my ID photos, lost my ID photos, and then claimed to have no liability over the loss. In total, a service advertised as R250 will end up costing you R500 plus of the loss of one of your instruction hours. It is a ********** use of your "instruction" time to double dip your fees for profit. As with all the other complainants, I also received the "No refunds as per T's & C's" refusal, a clear violation of the Consumer Protection Act. Please see the end of this review about that.

RE Booking Lessons: The instructor cancelled three times with last minute notice in three weeks during the first month of instruction. The retort was that I had as well. Yes, once with a 2-day courtesy notice and the other time the lesson was rescheduled as it simply was not possible to have a lesson due to downpour rain. After the three cancellations I pushed to prebook all remaining lessons and it was only after a week of ignoring my messages that they did so. Despite these problems with booking lessons and cancellations from their side, the instruction itself was fine. It is not a matter of competent instruction but rather the admin in getting the lessons on the books and not having them cancelled with little or late notice.

In relation to the T's & C's, the company is unable to claim indemnity due to consumer agreement to the terms of contract. The invoice states that sale equals agreement to these T's & C's, however, the terms are not furnished to the consumer. There is only a website link to the terms and the website is not functional and the link is dead, at least as of late July 2021 through mid-September 2021. Therefore, consumers during this period (and potentially beyond) would have been unable to sign off to the Ts & Cs and they were not furnished nor available and therefore those terms of contract are neither binding nor enforceable and all attempts to do so constitute *****.
