Dreams Place - Campsbay - **** ALERT

Please be careful when booking on bookings.com. We booked a place named 'Dreams Place' on there situated in Campsbay, Cape Town.

We paid via bookings.com and thereafter received an email from the so called 'management' of the place requesting we make contact with them on a cellphone number ***) to confirm the booking. I made contact with them and they then asked me about the payment. I told them that payment was done via the website. They then said I need to cancel with bookings.com and pay the monies directly to their 'management account'.

The messages received were very aggressive and just kept asking for the money. I requested a document from the bank confirming the banking details.

They then in a very hostile way rep**** "We are not obligated to send a proof of banking details, we have never had to send such, for we are not pressuring anyone to follow our process. Can only ask the supervisor about that and let you know."

They then later sent a Standard Bank letter with banking details which was falsified as there were spelling errors and did not look legit. This was then confirmation that these were ****mers.

I hope that they have not ****med many others and that they all end up with no place to stay during the Dec 2023/Jan 2024 holidays.

Please be careful. I was also notified that it's a much safer platform to use airbnb instead.
