Medical assistance: Dr Valie Strydom Port Elizabeth

My son was sick with flu and my wife took him to Dr Valie Strydom's rooms in Cotswold Port Elizabeth on a tuesday, I think 28 May. Dr gave him medication and booked him off for two days. On the Friday my son was back at school as he had to write exam, but that evening I realized he was not 100% yet, but it was too late to make an appointment. On Saturday morning I took him through without appointment. I was there before 8 and before other patients. I explained that I had no appointment but my son had still not recovered fully. His receptionist said it was no problem, Dr Strydom was already in and I can walk right through. I also explained to Dr and he immediately attended to my son. His prognoses was flu is better but this was a sinus attack and he prescribed another batch of medication. Now what I really appreciated was the fact that he said this is follow up visit and he is not going to charge for it. I have a good medical aid, which would have covered the consultation, and Dr Strydom knows this, but it is always reassuring to see some doctors not trying to make a quick buck from medical aids.
