PAYING FOR HALF A CONSULT

In the beginning of this year i had terrible stomach cramps, and was rather worried, so i contacted my gynecologist Dr V Govender. I was greeted by a lady by the name of Priya who said to me she would check for appointments. She later called and said she had appointment for the very same day.When i reached i had to wait because there were others before, while waiting the electricity went off due to load shedding. So I waited, when i did see the doctor she that she would only do a pap smear and a scan the next day.So i said ok. when i was done and i was about to leave the receptionist (Roshell) said to me that i can come in tomorrow for the scan and also that i do realize this was emergency consult and i would need to pay R950.00, I was so shocked, as i knew i had a medical aid. She then said you didn't get authorization, I had to pay. I was clearly under the impression that having been to her before i would not need a auth no, apart from that i then said to them upon calling thereafter what am i paying for she said it is the cash rate and no scans are covered. This is the most rude and disgusting service i have ever had from a medical practice. I would advise anyone to go to her.
