Pathetic service

I don't generally believe in speaking negatively about doctors especially however, due to my terrible experience, I feel in posting this, others will be saved from having an experience like mine. I went to Dr Vineshrie Govender as she was recommended by my GP. From the first visit I mentioned that although we were on medical aid, our funds were limited with regards to maternity and we were on a strict budget and as previously done with my first child, we would like to skip a few of the visits on the 1st trimester. I had lost a bit of weight due to excessive morning sickness and contracting covid in the beginning of my pregnancy, based on this, she kept saying I'm an extremely risky pregnancy even though everything with the baby was fine, she however insisted that we go for an NIPT test after our downs syndrome test came back as intermediary. We were extremely concerned and stressed out at this point, only to wait 2 weeks and to be told all was clear. I was also admitted to hospital unnecessarily several times, and every visit was extremely stressful as she kept stressing how we could lose baby or myself if we tried a normal after a ceaser, even though so many doctors and midwives successfully delivered in this manner. The last straw was when I was 7 months and all seemed fine, even the sonographer she sent us to was happy and said all was well with baby. But every single visit to vineshrie, there was some problem, something negative to say... Even though all was well... At 7 months after doing 1 dopla scan she said the placenta seemed to not be working and baby was extremely under weight and insisted we go to hospital immediately to administer steroids to open the baby's lungs. I asked many questions and then said I'd like to have a second opinion, to which she immediately asked who I'd go to, being December and so far into the pregnancy, I had no idea, she then said we cannot go to the sonographer as she is not qualified enough to say whether the baby or I healthy enough or if the placenta, which Rani the sonographer checked on our visit and said all was clear. Please note, I do not have pressure, diabetes or any other chronic illness, but every visit she insisted I was high risk, although all was clear with baby except baby's weight was a bit lower than average. She then referred us to a specialist who costed R4000 for a consult, money which I definitely didn't have. She said if we do not see him, we need to go to hospital ASAP. I then managed to find Dr Suliman after multiple phonecalls to many many doctors and much stress. He was truly God sent. We went to see him, he was happy, everything was clear, he said it was totally unnecessary to go to hospital. We are a full 9 months now and bangs weight is perfect. Till now, Dr Govender hasn't contacted us once to even ask if baby is fine or what happened, except a message from her secretary to ask if we'll be returning to Doctor. I said no we have changed Doctors and haven't heard from Dr v Govender till now. I feel like all she is concerned about is first money and payment. She makes you sign endless documents that any risk, any damage, any loss is not on her owners. I'm extremely dissapointed. Our first 7 months of pregnancy was extremely stress with Dr Govender. I jus hope nobody else goes through what I have gone through. A mother needs to be calm and stress free especially for baby's health.
