Not the Right Fit for Neurodivergent Needs

As someone who is autistic with ADHD and sensory sensitivities, I believe it’s important to advocate for mental health care that affirms neurodiverse experiences. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Tania Pearton did not meet those needs. I found the communication approach did not align with how I process information, and I felt there was limited understanding of neurodivergent communication styles and challenges. Key concerns such as diagnosis clarity, follow-up documentation, and individualized support for sensory-related sleep difficulties were not adequately addressed. While this practice may work for some, I would encourage fellow neurodivergent individuals and allies to seek professionals with specific experience in affirming and supporting neurodiverse minds.
