Billing & Administration
1st Issue. A few months ago I started getting billed with co-payments which I didn't have to pay for previously. When I spoke to the person at reception, I was informed that I had to nominate Dr Snyman as a preferred GP with my medical aid or else there will always be co-payments. I did as advised and still got billed for co-payments. Ibenquired via email but did not receive a response. Later on I started getting billed with paswordprotected pdf documents which required the patient's ID number. I do not always have my wife or three children's ID numbers with me and requested that they re-send the bill with me, the main member's ID number. This email was ignored. I eventually figured out who'se ID number was needed to open the account and saw that my accounts were now being backdated with co-payments from as far back as 2022. Messages for the accounts department to contact me are being ignored.
2ndly: I need a referral letter to a specialist. The original was unfortunately submitted with the specialist report to my kid's school by mistake. My wife is now returning to the doctor for the 3rd time in 2 days to try and explain to the receptionist what it is that we need. The letter should litterally read as follows:
I Dr PWA Snyman hereby refer (name of my son) to your practice for audiology testing.
Nothing fancy. I'm sure that he has referred many patients to specialists. What does his staff not understand? The best part is I am almost 100% certain that I will be billed for evertime my wife went there and DIDNT RECEIVE HELP!
This is ****** ridiculous. Visiting a doctor nowadays is like going to Home Affairs, the Licensing Department or the Municipality...you get nailed for every cent that you have and have to wait forever for nothing.
Dr Snyman is awesome but his staff clearly do not know what they are doing or simply do not care.
