Dr Pieter Troost

I was refered to this doctor for chronic sinusitis. He spent 10mins with me in 2 appointments. Charging me R400 co-payment for each appointment. I was told an operation for my deviated septum will solve all my problems. This is a birth defect by the way, so it has not affected me in 30+ years.

My IGE blood tests came back abnormal extremely high in fact but no clear signs of allergies. He told me to take a dewormer and do the operation. I tried to talk to him about this since I know for a fact I dont have worms and had questions about the other things that may cause this result. He waved me out of the office and told me to make an appointment for the operation. No answers didn't even take a proper health history.

I was then told by the receptionist that they are conciderate with the R1800 co-payment I have to make for the op because theybcan charge up 300% of the medical aid rate but will write that off for me. I asked about the pain I have and I was dismissed.

This doctor does not care about patients at all! I will be seeking a 2nd opinion and report him to my medical aid.
