If you ever need a Neurosurgeon, I hope you can be under he's care.

I have nothing but admiration and gratitude for Dr Slabbert and he's wife Helen. I think anyone in a brain related life threatening situation would be blessed to end up in he's very capable hands. After suffering a TBI from a car crash, he decided to not take me into a brain surgery for numerous reasons but the one reason I will always be greatful for is that the surgery would've severed my olfactory nerves leaving me with no sense of smell. Every time I smell something he comes to mind. Considering that a different Neurosurgeon might not have been so humane in their treatment approach and would've rather gone for the surgery instead of giving my body a chance to reduce the swelling and bleeding by itself I'll be forever grateful for he's decision making.

As for he's wife Helen that works tirelessly with him every day, she's such a blessing. Always there with wonderful kindness and knowlage that no average practice staff would have. She really adds a sense of safety and comfort to an otherwise traumatic experience.
