Being summoned for something I didn't know off

On 12 April 2015, Morena Seemela (son)had a consultation at Tshepo Themba clinix with Dr Makamo. I have a gems medical aid (emerald option) member no *** and Dr Makamo claimed and was paid by the medical aid. My son had to see a radiologist and now apparently Dr Mashao didn't claim, since last April till this year January I wasn't aware of such till I received a letter from the attorney's on 12/02/16. I called Gems to enquire of such and I was told that Dr Mashao didn't claim for his services but Tshepo Temba and Dr Makamo claimed for their services rendered. With regards to his claim, I wasn't notified with a letter or not even a single phone call informing me that the medical aid hasn't paid out and now I'm getting letters of demand and being charged for interest on the debt reviewed. What i don't get is how am I in the wrong for something that i wasn't aware of and that could've been resolved ages ago.<br>
