WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

Doctor tries her best to sell c-sections for no other reason other than for her own convenience and also to probably line her pockets. I started discussing birthing options with her from 18 weeks pregnant and at the time she assured me that she's fine with doing a natural delivery, which is what I had requested. However, as soon as I approached about 28 weeks, she started talking about doing a c-section by 38 weeks due to "baby being breached and small" (not taking into consideration that both myself and my husband are quite petite - I've never been over 50kgs until now). Obviously being a little concerned about this, we sought a second opinion via a 3D scan and at 31 weeks, baby is in the optimal fetal position and weighed in at 1.7kgs, which is perfectly normal.

Following that, I was eager to go back to Kalim to hear a valid explanation, but it was just one excuse after the other...she said that even though baby's head is facing down, the positioning is still oblique, and proceeded to talk about how much work it is for her to coordinate a natural birth. She even went as far as to insult me, asking if I'll be able to handle the pain! Uhm...have women not being doing this for centuries already???

In addition to all of this, her accounts/secondary receptionist lady is absolutely useless and utterly rude! I've been asking for details to get preauthorisation done with my medical aid since 24 weeks already, but they kept saying they will do preauthorisation only at 36 weeks, so joining my medical aids maternity benefits program is now extremely delayed.

I can go further to explain how they book an appointment slot for consultations, but you still sit for ATLEAST 1,5 hours waiting to get into the consultation room...all this for R1 100 per visit (cash). They don't even have the decency to provide a picture of the scans unless you're willing to pay an extra cost for this and the quality of her images are dispicable.

Nothing is proactively explained unless you literally beg for information, you just sit there all awkward while she types heaven knows what into her two high-tech PC's and fancy monitors (when she doesn't even know how to do a doppler properly and has to call someone to guide her through the process).

I could write a whole novel on the terrible experience I've had at this practice, but the above is about the short version of it.

Definitely more stress than it's worth and I would not recommend this doctor even to my worst enemy!
