Poor workmenship

I wasted a R350 consult yesterday 3.01.2024 6pm at Dr Kathan in 10 Oystercatcher Road, Pelican Park. After explaining many times the clinical signs and given a full detailed history that my 9 yr daughter has an ear infection. The male doctor was persistent she might have meningitis. I asked him if his not going to give treatment for an ear infection, he said no we must go to Victoria hospital for further diagnostics and they will medicate. he later then gave pain tablets. He called us back into the consult room and felt her lymph nodes and said ok, he looked very unsure. I wasted a r350 for consult. I had to contact family to assist in taking us to Victoria hospital to find out this doctor has a tendency to send all his patients to Victoria Hospital. I heard so many bad stories about Dr Kathan last night. We sat at the hospital from 7pm until 1:48am to hear my daughter got a severe ear infection, the doctor was amazing and Dr Kathan's locum doctors could not diagnose. I want my money back. My uncle and his wife had to drop us back home and they had to drive home to Mitchells Plain early hours of the morning. Just a pity my family doctor is currently on leave. The doctor must learn to listen to a detailed history and react and not focus on another, he did not even rule out an ear infection.
