Bad Service
My first visit with my sick child was on the 29th October at Dr Kathan, Klip Road, saw a doctor who wasn't exactly patient with a 5 year old who dismissed is easily, initially my son was diagnosed with the flu, normal paind and fever medication given and was told to get nasal spray. On 5 November my mother-in-law and I took my 5 year old son back to the doctor on Klip Road, Grassy Park and boy were we treated unfairly. Note I had been there the week before as initially stated......... and did not get the best of treatment by a one of the doctors on duty. He had no patience with my son and became very agitated because he could not see inside my glson's throat.
When we discovered that said doctor was on duty again my mother in law went to reception and very politely asked if when it was our turn if we could possibly see the other doctor. I was told very harshly that they we at the surgery the previous evening till after 10pm and they had a difficult night and was not going to grant any special treatment to anybody. However, the patient before us just a minute ago asked to see a female doctor and was granted special treatment.
As luck would have it we were called by said doctor and was given the exact same treatment. We were told my son could not be diagnosed because he couldn't see down his throat, he then just mixed up something and said to finish it (saw after it was antibiotic). My son also tried to tell him the thermometer was falling out and he first got irritated and said something, I then had to tell him he is just trying to tell you the thermometer is falling, he then just lifted it and told my son keep it, my son had a very high fever and was already lethargic and not feeling himself and had no energy at all, so to get irritated with a 5year old is not the best way, why are you a doctor if you don't have any patience.
Are we not entitled to get special treatment when we go to our doctors? The receptionist is not the most friendly person as well, we all heard you had a tough time the night before but it is no way to treat your customers should I say that way.
So no diagnosis for my son, rude doctor that saw to him twice and a rude receptionist.
Just saying!!!!
