A very distressing and painful experience

In December 2024, about two weeks before Christmas, I visited Dr Karusha padiaychee at Healthworx Cresta for the first time with a severely aching tooth. Many other dentists were unavailable due to the holiday season, so I booked with Healthworx assuming I'd be in good hands. After a brief consultation, I was advised to come back the following week for an extraction so I wouldn’t have issues over Christmas. During the procedure, I felt very nervous and uncomfortable — it seemed like a difficult extraction, with a lot of force, pulling, and frequent tool changes. Suddenly, my mouth filled with blood, and I was told (paraphrasing) that my sinus may have been perforated, though I was reassured not to worry as this had happened only "seven times before." The next day, I had to undergo surgery with a maxillofacial surgeon in Alberton (the only one I was told was available on short notice). Since then, I’ve been on a soft food diet for over 16 weeks and am still healing. My Christmas, New Year’s, and birthday were all impacted. I also couldn’t work for over a month, resulting in financial loss, on top of unexpected medical bills. To make things worse, I was later told (again paraphrasing) that the X-ray machine used only captures from one side, and it was difficult to see the sinus clearly. Had I known that beforehand, I would have happily gone somewhere else with full 3D imaging and paid more upfront, rather than deal with this traumatic and expensive outcome. This experience has caused me significant pain, anxiety, and disruption to my life. I hope sharing this helps others make an informed decision.
