Dr K Dhavaraj - Best Gynecologist Ever!!!

If you are looking for a Gynecologist in Pietermaritzburg, KZN, Dr Dhavaraj is the ONLY doctor I would recommend! During my 1st pregnancy back in 2013, I had ********** morning (all day) sickness and every doctor/casualty ward that I visited gave me the same answer: this is normal during pregnancy and then prescribed me nausea medication (that did not work). At the time I was living in JHB. On a visit to my parents who live in Pietermaritzburg I suffered from this so called normal morning sickness and my mom contacted Dr Dhavaraj, who said I should immediately be hospitalized as I have a condition called Hyperemesis Gravidarum! This is severe nausea & vomiting that went on the entire day and only stopped the day I gave birth to my son! He was the ONLY doctor who diagnosed me correctly. Even when I was back in JHB I had to tell certain Drs that I need to be hospitalized and what drips/medication I had to be on, and even then the Drs were not sympathetic to what I was going through and would still say this is normal! I was fortunate that the company that I worked for at the time allowed me to move to the KZN region during my pregnancy so that Dr Dhavaraj could be my attending Dr for the remainder of my pregnancy. Even though I was hospitalized 90% of my entire pregnancy, Dr Dhavaraj was very patient, sympathetic and understanding and we were at ease with him. I'm currently pregnant at the moment and unfortunately am going through the same symptoms as with my first pregnancy and the most unfortunate part is that I am back in JHB and working for a different company that do not have offices in KZN. If I was able to, I would definitely have wanted Dr Dhavaraj to be my Dr for this pregnancy as well!
