Here is how he ****med me:

2022/12/02: He shared photos of miniature dachshund puppies with me as I was looking to buy a puppy for my daughter for he birthday. He offered a 6 month old puppy - which he could send to Cape Town immediately - but my daughter preferred a "baby" and said she would rather wait for a while if she could have a younger (8 weeks old) puppy. This was communicated to Francois and he said that he would send one of the new puppies on the 18th of January to us. My daughter - and consequently myself - agreed that this was acceptable and asked him to reserve a specific puppy for us. He agreed to this.

2022/12/18: Francois requested that I pay a 50% deposit for both the puppy (total cost R12 000) as well as for the flight (R1500) in order to reserve the puppy.

2022/12/19: I paid the R6 750 as requested and sent a proof of payment which he acknowledged on the same day.

2023/01/13: I sent him a WhatsApp message requesting details about the flight etc for the 18th as I needed to make arrangements in order to go to Cape Town airport on a weekday to fetch the puppy. He read the message on the same day, but never rep****.

2023/01/16: I sent another WhatsApp message requesting details and explained that I needed to make arrangement in order to be available at the specific time that the flight would arrive etc.

2023/01/17: He rep**** to my message from the previous day and said that he would only be able to send the puppy to me towards the end of March as he was in a new job and things were disorganised. I rep**** to this message and explained that this was not acceptable to me as I had clearly explained to him initially that we wanted the 8 week old puppy as a birthday gift for my daughter. My daughter had already waited for more than a month. With the solution he proposed she would have to wait another two months and then get an older puppy rather than the baby we clearly explained she wanted. I requested that he sent us the puppy within that next week or that he refunds me as he was the one not keeping to our agreement. His response was that I was being unreasonable because he works for the SA defence force and can't just do as he likes. My response to this was that he never disclosed that this could be a problem and that frankly it was his problem to make sure that he could deliver the promises/services that he charged me for. He disagreed with this, but promised to refund me and I supp**** my account details.

Ever since he has been ignoring me and never refunded the money I paid to him. Obviously he also never sent the puppy.

All of the information/conversation that I'm referring to above is on WhatsApp, including what he agreed to do by when, the proof of payment I sent him etc etc. So there can be no debate as to what was agreed to in the first place, the promise to repay the deposit etc. I am happy to share the entire conversation with anyone interested as proof of this entire ordeal.
