Beware of your ENT Specialist who keeps your tonsils and makes you pay an arm and a leg for his fees.

I took my twins to the DR JD (Kobus) Venter, specialist ENT for an Adeno-tonsillectomy (Tonsil removal). I was not informed that he charges 217% scheme rates until I received a statement from his rooms. There was a discrepancy in the amount on my medical statement to the Dr's statement. I sent an email to the Dr, I was informed by the Practice Manager: Alet Welgemoed that my medical aid did not process the amount that she had submitted and now I must just pay Dr Venter the balance that is outstanding on his statement. My argument is that one twin had her tonsil removed and the other twin had her tonsil and her nose cautery done. Why am I being charged for a procedure that was done only for one child and not both children??? The Practice Manager will hear nothing but just expects me to pay the bill. There has to be a law in place that states a Doctor cannot charge you for a procedure that he did not do. This is *****.
