I underwent quintuple heart bypass surgery in 2025. Medical investigations evidenced that a vascular issue with my legs contributed to the severe condition. Dr. Islam had a 5 minute consult with me in 2025, a few days post op. He advised me to attend at his rooms, once I had sufficiently healed from the bypass surgery to allow him to attend to my vascular issue. In February 2026 made an appointment with Islam. Earliest available date 6 March 2026 @ 10am @ Entabeni Life Hospital. Further to the scans already in Islam's possession, and on the instructions of the GP I had further scans done . I provided the scans to Islam's receptionist on arrival at 9.45 am. Was directed to the consult room at 10am . Islam walks in and says 'WHAT DO YOU WANT?'. I was taken aback , I responded with good morning, which greeting was not reciprocated. I told him that he had a file on medical vascular history as he claimed for consults from my Discovery Medical Aid and further his receptionist confirmed that my details were logged onto their system. It was obvious that he had not read nor refreshed his mind re medical condition . I informed him that my symptoms returned and I am now suffering excruciating pain in both legs. He responds ' WHAT YOU WANT ME TO DO'. I said treat me - he reiterates 'WHAT YOU WANT ME TO DO'. I respond and reiterate that I am there at his request from January 2025. I try to draw his attention to my latest scan taken in January 2026, which even to me as a lay person, I could see the issue. Islam says who asked you for the scan to which I respond my GP. He says 'THEN WHY YOU HERE GO BACK TO YOUR GP'. I respond that my GP referred me back to you as the specialist. I am still gathering myself in a hope and a prayer that his absolute rudeness, arrogance and entitlement will subside, this was futile. He then screams ( through a closed door) for his receptionist to come into the consult room - he directs that I indicate to her where exactly it was that I was experiencing pain. That was a WOW moment for me- he was handing me over to his receptionist/secretary for her to diagnose me . What an Ass''''''ole . Incredulous unprofessionalism, lack of any basic mannerism, appears to hate his patients who he treats as mere plebs. I offered to pay him his R650-00 in cash which he quoted prior to consult even though this ********** experience lasted all of 5 minutes. Just in case his financial woes resulted in his despicable conduct- he informed his secretary not to take my payment. In my humble opinion his character is not befitting a mortician yet me practices as a Vascular Surgeon - what a tragedy to the humanitarian profession. BE FOREWARNED MY HUMBLE PLEBS - NO DIAGNOSES FROM THIS " DOCTOR'. Self diagnose and know what you want from him, instead of almost suffering another heart attach or stroke. Say NO TO DR JAHANGIRUL ISLAM.
