I like Gideon and believe he is a great Doc. He’s thoughtful, rigorous, and genuinely knowledgeable, with a patient-first, evidence-based approach. He listens properly, asks the right questions, and adjusts his thinking as new information emerges. We often speak about frontier tech or health. Sessions are consistently insightful and focused on practical progress. I’ve also been impressed by his understanding of pharmacology and his careful, risk-aware approach to treatment decisions. Highly recommended.

Dr Gideon Pienaar, a psychiatrist, has a terrible manner with his patients. He is ********* and blatantly rude. After my husband had a crisis, my daughter took him to Gideon. Upon arriving, he was condescending and rude. He started cross examining him and called my husband a ****. My husband had been there before, but couldn't remember. He was looking at his papers of the previous visit and called him a ****. This no way to treat a person who has been through a life or death crisis. My daughter was witness to this and she was utterly disgusted. A psychiatrist is supposed to have empathy and understanding for his clients. My husband stormed out of his office because of Gideon''s ********* and condescending behavior. Now he is sending a bill for a full hour, although my husband was only in for less the 3 minutes. He advertises R1350 for the initial visit and thereafter R800. He is charging R1350 and expects payment for his rudeness and setting his patient back. And now sending final demands and threatening to hand us over. We have complained to HPCSA, and awaiting their response.
