Shocking Treatement

<p>My mother took me in to the emergency ward on the 18th October 2015, I was not well enough to drive myself and was pretty weak from dehydration. There were a number of people in the waiting room and eventually after almost 3 hours of waiting, I was taken to one of the beds. At that point the nurses said it was busy and the doctor would be around shortly. He eventually did appear, read my chart and walked off. A nurse came past and took bloods and said they were sending for testing. We told her it was not necessary as I had full bloods the day before but she said it was procedure. Another nurse then started putting a drip in me – the doctor walked past, and because the nurse was battling for a vein, came and told her which vein to look at (still not even asking me what my symptoms were). He pushed my stomach once and left again.</p> <p>I had not seen the doctor again to explain my symptoms and that they had been carrying on for over two weeks and a number of antibiotics and medication were sent in, apparently on his instruction. At this point my mother and I asked what they were and how medication could be administered if the doctor had not even assessed me. At this point the doctor came in and started fighting with us – standing very much on top of my mother and screaming at her saying he had assessed me. We asked him why we would need to lie about something like that as I was there with an issue and would have nothing to gain. He was threatening and quite abusive.</p> <p>My mother requested that the drip be removed and that I would not be treated by this doctor. The nurse removed the drip and another lady who stood by seemingly helpless asked my mother to write on the file the reason for leaving and that she was signing me out. With all this happening we asked for management and was told there was no-one we could speak to and the notes in the file were enough. Clearly not - they are now trying to hand me over to pay R800 for the treatment which was actually not received. The other service providers (Fourways Life and Ampath) cleared what bills they had for this as they could not believe the treatment and agreed I should not pay - apparently Dr Frankel and Partners have no concern over patients or how their practice is run!</p>
