Assumed Cancellation

I booked an appointment at the dentist 2 weeks in advance at Dr FNB Durieux. On the Friday before the appointment I received a text to confirm the booking to reply yes or no. Unfortunately to my own fault, I did not read the text entirely as my message box is filled with spam sms, so sms is not my preferred or known way of communication.

None the less, I responded the next morning, realizing that they needed a yes or no response. Because they did not get the response the day of the text in their unknown allocated time frame, they automatically cancelled my booking.

There was not even a call to confirm the booking or the assumed cancellation.

This is just absolute pathetic work ethic and better booking confirmation procedures should be put into place.
