Terrible service after agreement made beforehand

My wife went for the Audiologist, that told her she needs 2 hearing aids. As these things are extremely expensive, and we could not afford a excess payment, the Dr told my wife that they will claim two years benefits as it was just before it came into effect. This would then cover all expenses as she would just have to agree to take the older model that was cheaper. The rest the would sort out in the office on the account.

No! That's not what happened. We were stuck with an outstanding amount, and the phone calls and threats of being handed over for collection.

After a long and frustrating discussion, we eventually agreed to pay the amount off. I immediately paid the agreement 3 months in advance. Thought we had some breathing space till end off this month.

No! Attorney's contacted me this morning. The payable balance is now 3x the outstanding amount. What is this world coming to?

I hereby retract my statement in full, and apologise for the wrong information therein.
I was not aware of the new arrangements made by my wife, who was the patient.
The service she received was excellent, and the misunderstanding as to the excess has now been cleared up.
I have been in touch with the practice of Dr Stroebel, and will settle the matter as arranged.
Yours sincerely,
David Wedders****
